NIU 2024 SPRING
Project Overview
For my final semester at NIU I was to come up with a project to work on the entire semester. I made the idea, did all the research, and designed a visual identity system.
Thrift Social
Thrift Social is a high-quality clothing thrift store with a repurposing workshop area within the store. The area will allow users to attend workshops and learn repurposing skills. The overall branding is informative of sustainability fashion choices.
Main Issues (found in research)
-Fast fashion
-A lot of donated clothing gets thrown away instead of being resold
-Damaged/stained items found at thrift stores
-Low quality clothes at thrift stores
My Solutions
-Accepting clothing donations, and taking everything that is “not sellable” and using it for the repurposing workshops to show people how to reuse their clothing instead of throwing it away
-Promoting slow fashion by selling used clothing, and rewarding customers by giving back to them
-Providing sustainable resources
